Dear Neighbors,

On behalf of the HVC Neighbors Team, we want to wish each and every one of you a Happy New Year. We pray that 2026 brings peace, love, good health, and joy to our community and to your families.

As we move forward together, we also want to take a moment to acknowledge and honor the neighbors we lost in 2025. Our thoughts, prayers, and love remain with their families and loved ones as they continue to navigate life without them. They are not forgotten.

Purpose of the Newsletter

HVC Neighbors newsletters are intended to foster connection within our community by providing a space for neighbors to share ideas, community updates, and important moments taking place in both their lives and our neighborhood.

February Valentine Movie Night – A Community Success

Our February 6, 2026 Valentine Movie Night was a wonderful success. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Debra Mack-Mitchell, Janice Thomas, Marilyn Mayfields, and Brenda Broussard for their time, creativity, and dedication in making this event a warm and enjoyable evening for our neighbors.

HVC Neighbors Club – Open to All

As outlined in the recent email drafted by First Service (our property management company), all Chartered Clubs are open to every resident. HVC Neighbors has always encouraged membership from anyone wishing to join and remains committed to inclusion, respect, and community connection.

Upcoming Events

This year, we have many exciting events planned, including local community gatherings, off-site travel opportunities, and spring cooking classes. Events scheduled through May 2026 will be posted on www.hvcneighbors.com, with additional events shared as details are finalized.

HOA Election Season – Your Voice Matters

Election season is underway, and we encourage everyone to stay informed and engaged.Did you know that you do not have to be a candidate to submit a written Member Statement? Members may submit a statement outlining what they would like to see from candidates who are running for the Board. These statements are included in the official election packet along with candidate statements.

Important Deadline:Both Member Election Statements and Candidate Statements are due February 25.

Community Manual Reference: please refer to Page 5, Section B of the Community Manual, titled Director Election Statements.

1. Community Manual Reference, which states:

   • Candidates and Members advocating a point of view may submit a Director Election Statement

   • Statements may not exceed one side of an 8½” x 11” page

   • The Board cannot deny a properly submitted Member Statement

   • Statements must be mailed, hand-delivered, or emailed to the Association at the address designated by the Board before the Nomination Deadline

   • Members are responsible for confirming receipt

   • By submitting a statement, the author accepts full responsibility for its content and agrees to indemnify theAssociation for any claims related to it

     
     

2. We encourage everyone to know their rights, become familiar with the governing documents, and never hesitate to ask questions when something isn’t clear.

3. Our property management company is First Service and they are more than happy to answer your questions.

HVC Neighbors Facebook Page – Community Connection

Just a reminder: the HVC Neighbors Facebook page operates independently from the HOA and is intended as a friendly, social space for neighbors to connect. It is not used for HOA or community governance discussions. Members may share life updates, events, recipes, resources, and referrals, and may also buy, sell, or offer free items within the group.

Community Care & Prayers

Please keep the Neufeld family in your thoughts and prayers, especially Larry Neufeld, who is facing terminal liver cancer. This information was shared by his wife, Sally Neufeld. We lift the family up with compassion, strength, and comfort during this difficult time.
